Important Notice for First-Year Full-Time Students

1 October 2026 is a day off from classes for all first-year full-time students due to the Inauguration Ceremony of the 2026/2027 Academic Year.

First-year full-time students are therefore not required to attend regular classes on that day.

The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport of Cracow University of Technology cordially invites students, staff and guests to the Inauguration Ceremony of the 2026/2027 Academic Year.

The ceremony will take place on 1 October 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the “Działownia” Interfaculty Education and Research Centre, Warszawska 24 Campus.

The programme will include the official opening of the ceremony, addresses by the University and Faculty authorities, the matriculation of first-year students, the inaugural lecture, and the presentation of awards to distinguished graduates.

Guests are kindly requested to wear formal attire appropriate for this ceremonial occasion.

Please note that the ceremony will be conducted in Polish and no English interpretation or translation will be provided.

We warmly invite you to join us for this special event marking the beginning of the new academic year.

Change of the Faculty’s Name

As of 1 October 2026, the Faculty of Civil Engineering will officially change its name to the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport.

The new name better reflects the Faculty’s current areas of education and development. In addition to civil engineering, these increasingly include transport infrastructure, transport systems and logistics. The introduction of new specialisations, the continued development of the educational offer, and the launch of the Transport and Logistics programme taught in English are all part of the Faculty’s efforts to prepare students and graduates for a rapidly changing labour market, including an international professional environment.

The change builds on the Faculty’s long-standing tradition while clearly highlighting the direction of its future development — modern, flexible and responsive to the needs of a labour market in which civil engineering, infrastructure, transport and logistics are becoming increasingly interconnected.

Along with the new name, the Faculty is also introducing a new logo, reflecting its expanded identity and the direction of these changes. The new visual identity sends a clear message to prospective and current students, graduates, the academic community, employers and external partners: the Faculty educates specialists prepared to meet the real challenges of today’s industry.

The new name and visual identity therefore represent more than a formal change. They symbolise the Faculty’s commitment to combining academic tradition with modern approaches, expert knowledge and the practical needs of the socio-economic environment.

Faculty Awarded the Prestigious A+ Category

The Faculty of Civil Engineering at Cracow University of Technology has once again been awarded the highest scientific category – A+ in the national evaluation of research activity for 2022–2025.

The result confirms the Faculty’s strong scientific position and the high quality and impact of its research in civil engineering, geodesy and transport. The A+ category also reflects the Faculty’s contribution to modern, sustainable construction, advanced geodesy and intelligent transport systems.

This achievement is the result of the commitment and scientific work of the entire Faculty community.

“Korniki” Student Research Group at an International Conference on Sustainable Construction

On 2 June 2026, members of the “Korniki” Student Research Group took part in the first edition of the international conference “Sustainability and Innovation in Civil Engineering: Perspectives from East and Central Europe”. The event focused on sustainable development and innovative technologies in civil engineering, with particular attention to research and current challenges in Central and Eastern Europe.

Representing the Group, Adrian Duszka, Bartłomiej Machota, Kacper Więcław, Mateusz Żołądź and Arkadiusz Latocha presented four papers across three thematic sessions devoted to structural durability and safety, innovative infrastructure technologies, and the conservation and modernisation of historic buildings.

The conference, organised by the Silesian University of Technology and the University of Georgia in Tbilisi, provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge, share experience and establish new research contacts.

Civil Engineering Day 2026 – Science, Industry and Student Life

Civil Engineering Day (Dzień Lądowca) is an annual event at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, bringing together students, researchers, industry representatives and prospective students. The 2026 edition took place on 14 May and combined science, career opportunities and student activities.

The programme included laboratory demonstrations, presentations by student research groups, a student scientific session featuring 39 projects from 11 research groups, and meetings with representatives of 27 companies and 6 professional organisations from the construction, transport and logistics sectors. Almost 400 secondary-school students from 18 schools also visited the Faculty to experience university life and explore engineering studies.

The event also featured projects related to Kościuszko Mound, career and internship consultations, as well as numerous social and recreational activities organised by the Faculty’s Student Council.

New specialization in English – II cycle studies – Structural Design and Management in Civil Engineering

The Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Cracow University of Technology kindly invites candidates from abroad to undertake second-cycle studies in English, partial or full, in the newly opened specialization Structural Design and Management in Civil Engineering.

The studies last three semesters and begin in March of every academic year.

Office 365 Pro Plus

The new Office 365 Pro Plus service has been launched for students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, allowing free access to the latest version of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Lync, Publisher and Access).
This is a full license based on the subscription assigned to the PK account: name.surname@admin.pk.edu.pl
Every 30 days, the Office application will check if you are entitled to use the package for free. If your computer (or another device with the package installed) is not connected to the Internet, you will be reminded about that by an appropriate message. Lack of Internet connection or lack of permissions (resulting, for example, from blocking your PK account) will cause the application to enter a restricted mode. You will be prompted to renew your subscription. All you need to do then is to connect to the Internet and confirm the login and password to regain full functionality of the package.

Instructions:
To install the latest Office suite on a private PC or MAC, please follow the steps listed below:
1. Go to office.com, find the “Log in” tile, enter your work e-mail address name.surname@admin.pk.edu.pl (this will redirect you to the login window), and then enter the password to the portal (the password is the same as your Teams password).
2. Select the “Install Office” button at right (marked in red). If there is a need to change the installation settings, e.g. system or language version, select “Other installation options”, if there is no such need, select the first item on list.
3. After completing these steps, the download of the Office 365 package will start. When the installation is complete, start one of the package applications, e.g. Word and log in to your work account. Office 365 will download the required license for your account and you can start using the programs.
